#1
From the cover of tankoubon #1.
Clothing:
White tunic, lightweight fabric, upper thigh length, sleeveless, scoop neck. Loose fitting, pleated
into neckband.
Teal blue tights, leggings, or close-fitting trousers; probably stretch fabric. Tucked into boots.
Green wrap; looks fairly voluminous, but cut cannot be determined.
Black boots, to below knee.
Accessories:
Teal blue pearl necklace, long, worn in two loops.
Cluster of two midnight blue roses, with leaves, worn on left shoulder. Appear to have either small
pearls or some kind of sparkles scattered on them.
One full-length midnight blue glove, worn on left arm.
Teal blue pearl bracelet, to match necklace, worn in two loops on left wrist.
Armband, dull gold with raised pattern, worn on right bicep.
Ring, plain gold, worn on third finger of right hand.
Black belt, about 2" wide, no buckle visible.
Comments:
This one is simply bizarre; I'm not sure what sort of effect was being aimed at here. See
also #11, which seems to be a variant of the same outfit.

#2
From title page of volume 1.
Clothing:
Top with wide, scooped neck, medium color, long sleeves, narrow ribbed band at neckline.
Dark, close-fitting trousers, low waistline.
Jacket, upper thigh length, dark color with a sheen to it, possibly velvet. Worn open. Collar,
front edges, and hem trimmed with light-colored fur or wool.
Accessories:
Narrow ribbon, dark color, tied around neck.
Long, thin chain necklace, lower part inside top.
Two thin chain bracelets worn on left wrist.
Dark belt with tooled pattern, open rectangular metal buckle.
Comments:
A simple outfit; the jacket is the only moderately fancy touch here.

#3
Dorian's grand first entrance in the story, at art exhibit.
Clothing:
Close-fitting top, medium color, scooped neck. Sleeves not visible.
Light-colored, close-fitting trousers, low waistline. Tucked into boots.
Light-colored coat, above ankle length. Worn open; cut appears to be flared from shoulders. Fitted
sleeves, slightly flared below elbow. Collar, upper front edges, and hem are trimmed with light-colored,
loosely fluffy material -- probably fur, though it could just as well be marabou feathers. Lining of
coat has indications of sparkling; could be metallic fabric or applied glitter.
Dark boots, upper calf length.
Accessories:
Light-colored pearl necklace, medium length, worn in two loops.
Two thin chain bracelets worn on left wrist.
Dark belt, rectangular metal buckle with inset, possibly jeweled (indication of sparkle).
Plain ring worn on third finger of right hand.
Comments:
Similar in general style to #2. Typical of Dorian's early outfits in public,
which run to close-fitting tops, tight, low-slung trousers, and elaborate wraps.

|
#4
Worn during second visit to the art exhibit.
Clothing:
Loose-fitting tunic, light-colored, upper thigh length, with front wrap closing, shawl collar,
yoke, full sleeves with fitted cuffs gathered into yoke.
Fitted trousers, light-colored, probably to match tunic.
Accessories:
Belt or sash, light-colored, probably to match tunic. No fastening visible.
Plain ring worn on third finger of right hand.
Comments:
An early example of Dorian's soft, flowing style.

#5
Worn during cancelled "business" excursion to the Tate Gallery, and during encounter with
Caesar on the street.
Clothing:
No shirt.
Close-fitting trousers of medium color, probably jeans. Low waistline. Tucked into boots.
Coat, ankle length, appears to be fitted through waist and flared below, worn open, with full
length fitted sleeves. Dark fabric; body lined, neck and front openings and cuffs edged with
light-colored fur.
Dark boots, upper calf length.
Accessories:
Two thin chain bracelets worn on left wrist.
Dark belt, open rectangular buckle.
Plain ring worn on third finger of right hand.
Comments:
Perhaps just a tad exhibitionistic. And another fancy wrap; I am reminded of the costume worn by
the Ghost of Christmas Present in "A Christmas Carol".

#6
At home.
Clothing:
Close-fitting light-colored top, with scoop neckline and center front neckline slit. Slit and
neckline are edged with patterned trim about 1" wide, possibly brocade. Full length, loose
sleeves with fitted cuffs.
Slim trousers, light-colored, probably to match top.
Light-colored shoes (or boots); flat heel.
Accessories:
Plain ring worn on third finger of right hand.
Comments:
A casual, relaxed style; nothing fancy except the touch of trim.

|
#7
Worn during raid on Westminster Abbey.
Clothing:
Dark (probably black) close-fitting catsuit; can't tell whether it is one or two pieces. Raised
neckline, full length sleeves.
Dark shoes or boots with low (1"-1.5"), chunky heel.
Accessories:
Brooch (possibly cameo, but not enough detail to tell), worn at base of neck, center front.
Wide, patterned bracelet, worn on left forearm.
Belt or sash with pattern that appears to match bracelet; no fastening visible.
Still wearing the ring, third finger of right hand.
Comments:
Working garb, Eroica style. Couldn't expect him to do without a few trinkets.

|
#8
In the island castle.
Clothing:
Dark shirt, close-fitting, open to waist in center front, with wide, turned-down collar.
Full length, loose sleeves are drawn with crosshatching which probably represents a net or gauze
fabric, and have fitted cuffs of dark fabric to match body of shirt. There is a rose embroidered
or appliqued to the outside upper arm of each sleeve.
Light-colored, close-fitting trousers, probably jeans.
Dark shoes or boots, flat heels.
Accessories:
Dark belt, open rectangular buckle.
The ring again.
Comments:
The roses on the sleeves are a nice touch.

#9
On submarine.
Clothing:
Dark, close-fitting top and trousers, or one-piece catsuit (can't tell which). Top has cap sleeves,
low V-neckline. Trousers tucked into boots.
Boots, medium color, mid-calf length, with decorative band around tops (could be trim or tooling).
Accessories:
Wide, flat, patterned necklace, to just below hollow of throat.
Wide, patterned bracelet on right wrist.
The ring, as before.
Comments:
Stylish working garb for the submarine.

|
#10
Final page.
Clothing:
Dark top, high neckline, full length sleeves.
Accessories:
Pearl necklace, light color, worn short in two loops.
Pearl bracelet, two loops, on right wrist.
Comments:
Could be the catsuit from #7 again, but it's only shown from the waist up so can't
really tell.

#11
Used between stories in tankoubon #1.
Clothing:
Dark top, sleeveless, scoop neck.
Tights, leggings, or very close-fitting trousers of medium color. Tucked into boots.
Dark boots, to upper calf; chunky heels about 1"-1.5".
Voluminous wrap, light color; cut, if any, cannot be determined.
Accessories:
Pearl necklace, length medium or long, worn in two loops.
Dark glove, to above elbow, on right hand. (Left hand not visible.)
Comments:
This is very reminiscent of #1, but with a different top. Neither is worn during
any of the actual stories. Thank goodness.
