#1
Cover of tankoubon #4.
Clothing:
Only garment visible is part of a top, deep blue, with scoop or
V neckline trimmed with narrow lace.
Accessories:
Narrow black choker with red teardrop gemstone pendant on gold
loop.
Comments:
Not much to see here, but included for the sake of completeness.

#2
Title page of tankoubon #4. (This picture looks more like it should
have been associated with Insha'Allah, but in the tankoubon
edition it turns up here.)
Clothing:
Head veil, probably white, about waist length, bound around head
with two loops of braided cording.
Dark robe or tunic, no details visible.
Light-colored cloth loosely wound around neck -- can't tell whether
this is a scarf or part of a garment.
Accessories:
Crossed bandoliers on chest.
Ornate dagger, probably slung from waist.
Comments:
This isn't too far from his Bedouin getup in Insha'Allah,
but the bandoliers are an unusual addition for the firearm-shy
Dorian.

#3
Back of title page, tankoubon #4.
Clothing:
Heavy knitted sweater, dark color, with thick turtleneck and
raglan sleeves.
Accessories:
Hair appears to be pulled back and tied with a dark, striped
ribbon of some kind.
Comments:
Again, not much to see here. With that heavy sweater, this one
might more properly be grouped with The Alaskan Front, which is
also in this tankoubon, but what the heck -- I'll leave it here.

#4
In the bath at the hotel in Rome.
Clothing:
Zilch.
Accessories:
Heavy bangle bracelet on left wrist.
Comments:
OK, I know it isn't a "costume" per se. But he's
wearing a bracelet, and as far as I'm concerned, that qualifies.
He's worth looking at, anyway.

#5
During, and immediately after, the first, ill-fated tunnel expedition.
Clothing:
Light-colored shirt, standard cut, tailored fit.
Close-fitting trousers, medium color, jeans cut, worn tucked into
boots.
Dark, V-necked sweater.
Light-colored jacked, upper thigh length. Button front, turned-down
collar, self belt. Pleated patch pockets, breast and lower front,
both sides. Topstiching around front opening and collar edges,
cuffs, and pockets.
Light-colored boots, below knee length, low heels.
Accessories:
Floral-patterned scarf, worn tied cravat-style around shirt neck
and tucked into sweater.
Dark belt, open rectangular buckle.
Comments:
A practical outfit for tromping around in caves. Nothing
too "flashy", but nice looking.

#6
Dorian's fantasy image of himself as a thief in the Renaissance.
Clothing:
White shirt, full, buttons at upper front. High, gathered collar.
Very full sleeves, separated into puffs by narrow bands.
Light-colored hose.
Patterned jerkin (probably brocade), upper thigh length, open to
waist in front.
Dark, heavy, draped coat, full length, very loose-fitting. Worn
open in front and off left arm.
Accessories:
Chain necklace with round pendant at middle of chest.
Patterned belt, no closure visible.
Comments:
Dorian's slightly romanticized version of Italian Renaissance garb.

#7
In the Vatican Library; when meeting Klaus at St. Peter's Piazza;
when flagging down construction crew.
Clothing:
Nun's habit, light-colored (white or grey, probably).
Accessories:
Cross on chain around neck.
Cord belt.
Comments:
This is Dorian's first venture into drag in the series (but not,
alas, the last.) He's unusually tall for a nun, but otherwise
reasonably convincing. I'm not sufficiently familiar with nun's
costume to determine which order he's infiltrating.

#8
Construction site at St. Peter's Piazza.
Clothing:
Light-colored overalls, button-front, open at neck with turned-down
collar. Sleeves rolled up. Breast patch pockets, pleated, with flaps.
Worn tucked into boots.
Dark, scoop-necked shirt worn under overalls. Probably T-shirt or
tank top.
Workman's boots, dark color, upper calf length.
Accessories:
Hard hat, with visor. Light-colored.
Workman's gloves.
Comments:
A strictly utilitarian disguise. Note that the shirt Dorian wears
under his overalls is short-sleeved or sleeveless; Klaus is dressed
the same way in this scene, but his shirt has long sleeves.

#9
Second tunnel venture; in Vatican Palace.
Clothing:
Black, long-sleeved, turtleneck sweater, close-fitting.
Black trousers, fitted.
Boots of indeterminate color.
Accessories:
Dark, narrow belt.
Comments:
Another standard-issue thieving outfit.

#10
Vatican Palace
Clothing:
White shirt with wide ruff at neck. (Rest of shirt not visible.)
Fitted doublet in wide, light-and-dark vertical stripes. Buttoned
down front. Long sleeves with cuffs; sleeves fitted from wrist to
elbow, and above puffed and slashed into panes.
Knee-length breeches in vertical light-and-dark stripes. Very full,
slashed into panes from mid-thigh to knee. (There would be a lining
or under-layer below these.)
Gaiters in stripes to match doublet and breeches. Knee length,
button closure.
Light-colored boots.
Accessories:
Dark hat with wide, turned-up, shaped brim.
Wide, light-colored belt with square, embossed buckle.
Light-colored gloves (while safe-cracking.)
Comments:
The uniform of the Swiss Guard derives from the Renaissance-era
Swiss landsknechts, soldiers known for their very colorful
outfits decorated with puffs and slashes.

#11
At hotel, after return from Vatican Palace and successful Pope-napping.
Clothing:
Shirt with vertical pinstripes. Wide, turned-down collar; long
sleeves, slightly full, gathered into cuffs.
Light-colored waistcoat. Shaped hem, front button closure.
Light-colored trousers.
Light-colored boots.
Accessories:
None.
Comments:
Another echo from the days of the leisure suit.

#12
While acting as decoy to lure Juliani.
Clothing:
Long-sleeved, close-fitting shirt and trousers, or one-piece
jumpsuit, worn tucked into boots. Probably in black leather.
Dark, flat-soled motorcycle boots, below knee length.
Accessories:
Dark belt, no details visible.
Comments:
Ooo, baby.

#13
After return of Pope, through end of story.
Clothing:
Dark, cowl-necked sweater. Hip length; long sleeves.
Light-colored trousers, with front creases.
Light-colored jacket, upper thigh length. Front wrap closing; has
shawl collar, three-quarter-length sleeves with rolled-back cuffs.
Cuffs, collar, and opening edge are in contrast fabric with narrow
stripe. Striped self-belt.
Light-colored boots.
Accessories:
Narrow, light-colored belt with open rectangular buckle.
Comments:
This one is fairly unremarkable. By the time he's on the plane at
the end, the jacket has vanished and he's wearing the sleeves of the
sweater rolled up.
